As part of our work studying the ANZAC's at Gallipoli we wrote a diary as if were were there; this is mine:
25th April 1915
Dear Diary,
Boom! I hear bombs dropping into the water splashing everywhere from the distance I am standing at. Suddenly I feel myself shaking like I have never been shaking before. ‘Bang!’ ‘Bang!’ As I get closer I am feeling sad from being away from my family. My friends are getting shot or wounded. I am starting to freak out, I hope I don’t get shot.
Suddenly a bullet came out of nowhere and it hit my friend in the head. His head splattered everywhere. I found the man who shot my friend. He had was a sniper so I stabbed him in the stomach with a knife. The Turks came out of an enemy trench, ‘Bang!’ ‘Bang!’ The Turks shot at anything. As they move forward I grabbed my rifle and ‘Boom!’ I shot the at the Turks. I jump around with joy as we have won the fight and I am feeling a lot better that I didn’t die. So I lay down in the trench and have a rest.
